Finally got round to installing my other 4Gb of ram today (2x2Gb), even got rid of the HUGE amount of dust thats somehow accumulated inside me case, anyways i installed the modules, was happy at the job i had done and reattached window, turned on PSU then PC only to be greeted by 100% GFX fan, thats it, no display, no slowing of the fan on my graphics card, anyone got any ideas why that has happened and anyways to correct it? im using OCZ PC6400 'reaper' DDRII modules if that makes a difference, running slightly overclocked :confused:
 
Were you overclocked when you installed the modules, try a CMOS reset and see if that helps.
If not try each stick individualy.

yeah all my OC settings were saved to CMOS before i put modules in, i will try that tomorrow when i get home see if it works, can never have too much memory! :) by the way i tried the modules they are all fine, but it only seems to work properly if only two slots are in use, if i use DDRII-1, 2 and 3 same happens, if i use slots 1, 3, 4 the thing spins up, then resets, then spins up, then resets and so on, let it go through that like fifteen times just to be sure! :confused:
 
Had very similar problems with mine after upgrading to RAM and overclocking.

Mine was fixed by slackening the memory timings to 5-5-5-18 from 4-4-4-12, though a little extra voltage on the NB might help. I've also heard that a complete BIOS reset could be of use, (use jumper) and then boot, shutdown as normal and apply the old settings again.
 
why not remove the two new sticks remove the oc insert new sticks if successful oc if not id recommend running memtest on all 4 sticks
