Well, saw there had been several BIOS updates since my last one so decided to install the F10 BIOS... what a %^&£*$% mistake!

The update seemed to go fine, but after getting into windows for a bit after setting my BIOS options, my PC BSODed and now will not even post.

Even after removing CMOS battery and shorting jumper to reset, it still will not even post. Even if I remove memory and GPU I don't get warning beeps.

HAve left the battery out, and the jumpter shorted overnight, and hopefully when I get home it will start long enough for me to re-flash to older BIOS, but I am doubtful...

Do they not test these things thoroughly before they put them up?

So anyway, like I said, anyone who owns this board, avoid this BIOS at all costs!

They usually say that you flash the BIOS at your own risk. But normally they will replace it.

Well, its definitely stuffed..... Nothing I do is getting it working again.

So will RMA. From doing some research, this problem is actually quite common, and is not necessarily caused by BIOS update.

Only thing is, am not sure whether to just get a replacement board of same type in the mean time, or to get something else. Don't want this crap happening again, but also have OEM version of Vista, so not sure if chaning board a good idea.

Christ, more flippin money to spend.... :(

Have you tried CD based BIOS recovery?

OEM Vista will prolly throw up an auth error even with an RMA'd motherboard... use the phoneline tho and it'll usually reactivate from the automated system... if not phone when the indian call center is online and tell em your HDD died and they will reactivate it :D

Dont know how CD based recovery would work. It does not even get as far as posting. No display comes up. System simply powers up for a couple of seconds, powers down, powers up for couple seconds, powers down, and on and on and on....

Nope. I did once last night, but not again since.

Think it is worth me getting a different board manufacturer, or better to stick with same board?
