¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Right now, this board is still in the box, I already have 4gb of ram on it but am awaiting a q6600.

Anyway, I was wondering if there are any improvements I can make before installing it? Is it worth replacing the thermal goo under all the heatsinks? Anything else?

I'm planning on watercooling my CPU also, so do the heatsinks need much airflow? I'll probably be running 333-400 FSB depending on how good my chip is...

What revision is it? The Rev 1.1 and Rev 2.0 run quite warm above 1333MHz but short of getting a Rev 1.0 tower cooler there isn't much you can do about it. Just put a fan on the chipset and you'll be fine.

You don't need it - There is almost 3-times more fin area on the towers than on the ones used on the subsequent Rev 1.1 and Rev 2.0 coolers. You need to put something like 1.7V on the Northbridge to get them to heat up even a little bit.

Gigabyte lost a small fortune on those DS4 boards due to the size of the coolers. Their loss was definitely your gain.
