Hi Guys,

I was wondering if you could help me out with a small issue I am currently facing with the p35w.

I have the following setting in my control panel:

Keeping these settings, you would think that when the laptop is plugged in and the Lid is open, the laptop will not go into hibernation, correct? Well, on my machine it does after several hours of idling, the laptop just goes into hibernation and I have to press the power button to start up the windows again.

I would like to keep my laptop active and operational 24/7 as I am usually downloading a lot. Is there any other settings I am missing?

I would really appreciate any feedback on this.

Thanks,

Adeel

Click on the "change advanced power settings". You can then change how it works on plugged in and on battery.

You can change EVERYTHING in there to allow the CPU to run slower on battery, to go power saving on wifi, everything! Very handy!

Thanks. Got the hibernation off in advanced settings.

Cool! Same thing was happening to me when i closed the lid. i tell it to do nothing, but it get going to sleep. I had to change it in the power plan advanced settings, even though i'd changed it elsewhere! Not sure if its a win 8.1 bug!

Not strictly related, but I have never managed to get my P35K (CF4) working on Hibernate :( Ever since the 8.1 upgrade (possibly before, can't remember) it simply won't boot from hibernation. Sleep is fine, hibernation just freezes at BIOS logo....
