Gigabyte P35W V5-CF1 Screen

Is the screen in the Gigabyte P35W V5-CF1 laptop glossy or matte?

I asked the question to OCUK and some other retailers.

OCUK: "That is a glossy display on this laptop."
Other Retailer 1: "...it appears to be a FHD IPS Matte screen"
Other Retailer 2: "It is a standard LCD screen." *facepalm* ... and after further prompting: "This model has a glossy screen."

Yet someone in this forum posted a mini review where they state "Screen: Matt finish which I bet is going to be great in bright sunshine..."

Can anyone who actually has this laptop confirm what type of screen it has?

Surely Gigabyte aren't sending out the same model of laptop with different screens to different retailers...?

The V2 was matte, I doubt any further iterations would change to glossy.

The V2 also had a standard, non-IPS option, which I'm guessing is the glossy one Retailer 2 mentions.

V4 is deffo matte too

Sorry for delay in response. We can confirm that the screens on P34, P35 and P37 are all minimum spec of FHD IPS, and are matte finish, not glossy.

It is normally written in spec details, but we will try and improve this information.

Did you call or email OcUK and receive the incorrect information, we would like to ensure all know the specs correctly. Can you also confirm the "others" that told you it was Glossy so we can educate them.

It would help if the Gigabyte website spec was updated to say the screens are matte. It's quite an important detail. I was ready to discount Gigabyte due to the confusion and uncertainty around this.

For the OCUK inquiry I clicked the "Ask a question" button on the product page and used the form to send the question. The reply was from "Ben E".

I'm happy to let you know the details of the other inquiries I made but the rules say I can't write competitor names here. Is there a way to send a private message as I don't see the option anywhere..?

Thanks for the feedbaack. We have contacted HQ and requested this detail be added to our overviews, as it is mentioned on some models, but not others. So its certainly not clear.

We have also contacted OcUK informed them.

Thanks VisitorQ2 - email received and we have communicated with these re-sellers, the need for specs to be adjusted, to reflect, no pun intended, the fact that ALL our Gigabyte and AORUS products have an "Anti-Glare" screen.
