Hi Guys

I bought this laptop last November from OCUK and its been great.

However in the last few days I have been having an issue where its been turning itself off.

It only seems to do this when using battery, and when I move it a round. It has not happened when plugged into mains and if it's on battery and not moved its fine for hours on end. .. The battery still holds its charge fine.

I am thinking from the symptoms that it's possibly a loose connection somewhere from battery. I think the battery is front left of the laptop chassis and that is where I generally grab the laptop to move it.

I am pretty sure its not overheating as idle CPU temps are around 48 degrees and the issue can happen 1 minute after powering on.

I am currently in process of getting everything updated to recommended driver level in smart manager just to rule any software issue out.

Has anyone come across and issue like this before? What would be best way to fix this?

Laptop still has 16 months of warranty left.

Thanks

Hi jimjam81,

Something not right for sure, and yes it sounds like loose connection, possibly happened because of where you are carrying/moving it around.

We would always recommend carrying with both hands to support the chassis on each side so as to not stress the chassis and more importantly what's inside !

Sounds like it needs to be returned to our service centre, so please contact them:

Thanks for the quick response.

No problem.

Our warranty is 2 year, so I was wondering when you said it still had 22 month left but was bought in November,,, this now makes sense.

Let us know how you get on.
