This board has been working beautifully but then I updated it to 16GB mem, slots 1 and 3, Kingston memory all worked fine.

I tested my 4*2GB ram in the board and found it wouldn't read 8GB, Tonight just to check everythinng out as I had agreed a sale I put the 16GB back in and it wouldn't boot just powers up powers down.

Putting the 4 * 2GB in it reads 4GB in total, if i go into mit current status it shows dimms in all 4 slots but it shows 2048 as enabled in slots 1 and 2 and a - for slots 3 and 4.

Putting dimms in slots 1 and 3 only it shows 4GB, putting memory in slots 2 and 4 it shows 4 GB, but it will not boot show 8GB with all four slots filled.

Going back to my 2*8GB dimms if I put these in 1 and 3 slots it wont boot, but if I put 2*4GB in slots 2 and 4 it boots and shows 16GB in total.

Have stopped the sale of the board as I think the board is faulty, unless anyone else can shed some light on what is going on?

That's a tough one but I would start by checking each dimm stick one at a time, using the the preferred slot for just one stick, which is indicated in the motherboard manual.
