Afternoon all,

I bought my son for Christmas an R9 270 for Gigabyte, was a decent price and was bought so that he could run games like Lego and Sims, it handles these games fine.

However it makes a really loud rattling/vibrating sound when it is running, the fans spins fine and are not the issue, it seems to sag from the PCI lane, when you touch the corner that sags the vibration stops.

Is it worth RMA'ing this or will the replacement be the same?

The boy can't notice it as he is new to PC gaming but I can and now that I do it is bugging me! It is a very silent gaming rig but the GPU rattle is the only thing you can hear coming from the unit.

String as stulid has suggested, or cut a peice of wooden dowel to the appropriate length to prop the card up.

I have a cunning plan then if this is the best method.

And it involves Lego.

It has a long warranty so if the problem gets worse I will send it back. Shame the card is so heavy is sags.

It's happened with a few non ref cards I've owned. One of the pair in sig sags a little in the top slot. Yet its fine in the bottom one. Other card is ok in either slot. Probably down to the first card being the older 1" longer wf 780.
