Gigabyte, Realtek and echoed crackles

Hi, got my new build running nice for some time now except I have been plagued by the realtek distortion that basically crackles on the p's and b's (certain loud bits) and causes an echo of that crackle that fades. It's the same crackle every time, same echo, no matter the triggering sound that I am guessing is above a certain level.

I have tried numerous drivers on win10, now on win 11. No difference. The only time it stops is after a reboot. I can see many people having the same issue but none of the "this may work" solutions working.

It has got to the point I am contemplating getting a sound card but I don't want to block air intake to the gfx. See board : https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B460M-D3H-rev-10#kf

I heard I can put the pcie sound card into the lower GFX slot but read about issues. Running a 1650super in the main gfx slot.

Any help appreciated. Money isn't brilliant right now so I would probably be getting an audigy or similar.

You can get a usb external sound card.
Not an option I want my friend. I really would like to use this Delta 10/10 I have but I would prefer not to put a block of sound card right in front of the gpu.

So I really would like to know if I can put a PCIe sound card in the second GPU slot with no ill effects.

Usually yes but the gpu will run at x8 speed which will have a minimal affect on gpu performance.
