Morning all,
I need to RMA my 2080 Ti as the fans are playing up on it. A little Google search suggests it's quite common, the middle fan spinning up to max rpm what seems to be randomly. The temps are nothing out of the ordinary.

I did reach out to them but they said to wait until the 4th as RMAs are closed until then due to Christmas, that's fine I can wait for now,it's still usable.

What I'm interested to know though is, has anyone RMA'd anything directly to Gigabyte and how was that process? Are they in the UK? How long does the entire process take?

I can't be without the pc for weeks as I need it everyday. I'd maybe consider this time to get a new card but that's not a possibility right now due to stock issues etc..

Thanks!

Gigabyte are usually very good, but even so you are talking several weeks not days. And especially right on top of xmas you could expect even longer delays. In general I tend to try to fix the problem myself. In the case of the middle fan spinning up most people seem to have success replacing the thermal paste. I mean that's cheaper than a one way courier so I would be tempted to try that first - if you feel confident doing that.

Gigabyte rma is a two way cost, GB charge you £15 for postage back to you and whatever it costs you to send it to them.

I ended up dealing with the etailer I bought it from as I don't believe I should foot any bill for a faulty product, they collected and returned it at no cost to myself.

Roughly a three week turnaround process.

Cheers for replies.

It's such an incovinient time for it to happen as well. Right around Christmas, COVID, no supply of other cards >.<
