So my Gigabyte 280x started crashing and artifacting recently when playing games/watching videos. It's B-Grade so I can't go through OCUK mind you. I have emailed Gigabyte and requested an RMA and according to the reply, I have a choice to either pay a £15 handling fee, or sort out a courier to deliver to Gigabyte, and then again to collect when they have repaired/replaced the card.

I understand that I need to cover shipping there, but why should I have to cover their shipping back to me on a faulty item that is within warranty?

I can understand that you would need to pay for the shipping to Gigabyte but not for the return of the card. It's their product that has failed so they should at least cover the shipping back to you. Sadly it's not the first I have heard of this practice by Gigabyte as people have previously posted about this on here. It would certainly make me think twice about buying any of their products as it can soon mount up into a considerable amount, especially if it's for a cheap card or motherboard.

Gigabyte are scum when it comes to support.

My motherboard query from 9months ago got a single reply "give us a little time to investigate". They had no information with which to investigate, and I've never heard from them since. The mobo is binned and I'll never touch one of their products again.
