Hi all,

Yet another 2080 ti thread.... I’m trying to figure out which cards will be using the reference PCB so I can stick a water block on.

Anybody know if the gigabyte gaming will feature a custom PCB, or will use the reference design?

Thanks!

I think every card is a reference PCB is this round of releases, I mean the triple can cards you can clearly see the PCB is to small for the cooler

That is what I thought, but I just saw a preview vid of the msi true gaming from oc3d, and it is defo a custom card with 6+8+8 pcie connector, so not sure anymore...

According to EK's compatibility list for their 2080 Ti Vector block, only the Windforce 2080 Ti is listed.

However, according to Gigabyte's site, the Gaming uses the same Windforce cooler, both cards have the same PCI-E plugs, but listed dimensions are different.

I'd personally drop Gigabyte pre-sales a message and ask them if the PCB is the same for both cards.
I sent them a message but they said they couldn’t say yet in the response (I mean seriously wtf). This launch is a complete mess, I’m gonna be pretty unhappy if it turns out the gaming oc isn’t reference tbh. Wish there was more info out there. Sounds like availability is going to be even worse than previously though too, so preordering another card doesn’t look to be a viable option. Almost regret not just getting the FE direct from Nvidia now.
