Gigabyte + SATA drive not working correctly

Hello,

I just bought a Gigabyte K8NF-9 board as I am upgrading my build.

I have a Maxtor Diamondmax 10 SATA-1 250GB Hardrive and am having problems installing Windows on it.

I already have a 160GB partition on there which I would like to keep, and was going to install Windows on what's left. Let me first of all say this drive works fine in a USB SATA enclosure on other computers.

Ok, so I've put it all together, everything seems to work well, HDD definitely all connected up as when I go to the RAID setup screen in the BIOS it finds the hard disk.

However when I try to install Windows on it (with the correct SATA drivers loaded from floppy) or try to change the boot priority in the BIOS it says no hard drives found.

So it is detecting it, and sometimes not

Any ideas to help?
Much appreciated, cheers.

Silly me!

I had to disable RAID as I was only using a single SATA drive.

Then I didn't even had to load SATA drivers, Windows installed on it's own :)
