Gigabyte X48 DS4 and DDR3 Ram?

Can anyone confirm that DDR3 Ram works in Gigabyte X48 DS4?

I heard that the X48 chipset can support upto DDR3 1600, but not sure if this particular model does.

Supported memory only says DDR2 in manual, but on Gigabyte website it just says 'Intel® X48 chipset also offer options for both DDR2 and DDR3 memory support, providing scalable options for users wanting to take advantage of higher memory performance with less power consumption to run next generation applications such as high-definition video and 3D visualization.'

Your DS4 does not support DDR3 only DDR2 up to 1200mhz. Only a few X48 boards supported DDR3.
