Just saying there is a new bios, and all it says is improve memory compatibility.

There maybe bios updates for other X570 Gigabytes.

I've just got a modest memory clock (considering the potential of my RAM). I will try to go for 3800, I've been there before but now I have more knowledge on how to tune my RAM:

Yeah new bios out for aorus x570 ultra too
Just says same thing increased memory compatibility
Not tried it yet as need to find where I put
My freedos usb to efi flash it in dos
As not trying a bios update in Windows again especially on gigabyte board
Love my gigabyte board but have to say most of their software sucks big time

Yeah tried qflash when I first got the board
It kept flashing the back up bios chip instead of the main one
Or flashing the main one and booting off the backup
So in bios I had newer version but in Windows the older one
Used efi flash in dos in the end up as you can specify which bios chip or tell it to flash both
Did a post explaining how to do it

Question guys,when a Bios update says `increased memory compatibility`
Does it mean compatibility for `Different `brands of ram?or better adjustment/running of currently installed ram i.e. Does it mean you `could` tweak your existing ram better?

Can be both. Overall I guess. Existing ram could clock better if you push it and RAM that has had issues may now work.

Pretty much a case of if it isn't broken, don't update. Unless of course there's a major bump. I

believe f20a has AGESA 1.0.0.6 in with it.

just in case any one has issues flashing
heres what i did-sounds complicated but its not
says f11 but obviously that was bios version when i wrote this guide
if you dont have 2 bios chips then the /db will either get left off
or just be /d instead as i assume b means backup

just about to do f20a on mine

download f11 bios--or whatevers latest version number- and extract it to a folder
will be 4 files
x570AUL.F11 --or whatevers latest version number- rename it to gigabyte.bin dont delete the other files
download rufus usb software
forgot exact options in rufus but use dropdowns
select fat32
select freedos
select mbr
make the usb drive with rufus
copy gigabyte.bin to usb drive
copy the other 3 files though read me wont matter
when asked about autoexec file tell it to put it on there
with 1 added to end-as already a different autoexec file on there and
you need both i think
boot from usb you made
type efiflash
should get the options for it
sorry this sounds long winded

now hopefully for the magic :):)
type in
efiflash gigabyte.bin /db

wait for it to finish and restart you get a % counter for it all
so will know its doing it

once it restarts you should have f11 on both bios chips--if you have 2 chips obviously

hope that helps some one

Or just boot into the bios and flash it through that?

  • BIOS
    1. 1 x 128 Mbit flash
    2. Use of licensed AMI UEFI BIOS
    3. PnP 1.0a, DMI 2.7, WfM 2.0, SM BIOS 2.7, ACPI 5.0
That is from the gigabyte Aorus Elite Specs:

What is Agesa 1.0.0.6? I've only just updated to F12h, and redid my memory overclock. The same settings between F12f and F12h did not work, so I'm not in a hurry to flash this one without knowing its better for me. I mean the last one said "memory" update. I think the real reason my scores are a tiny bit better is because the base clock is closer to 100Mhz.

This one's preparation for new amd cpus
Apus first I think so likely more bios updates to come
