Hi All,

I recently upgraded my CPU from a 3700x to a 5800X3D, however my chipset fan has developed a very annoying whine even when idle.
For now I have used Fan Control to turn the fan off and temps are around 65c at idle.

Motherboard is Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite.

I'm looking for options as i have read that getting a direct replacement from Gigabyte is not going to be an option.

Anyone got any experiance or advice for this?

I have x570 aorus pro, but I removed cooler and use ek waterbloc, as chipset temps were bothering me. I guess you can try to remove the fan, measure it and check aliexpress, very often you can find same spec parts there.

More than likely the fan will have a part number on it, so whip the fan out hit up AliExpress or eBay and you should find a new one.

Alternatively, see if you can find the technical specs for the fan and then buy any fan that has the same specs.

Thanks both, I have the fan set at 15% speed which prevents the noise but keeps the chipset around 60c when playing games.
I will pull it apart over the christmas break and see if i can get a replacement.

What if you use a 3D printed duct, like 90 bend?
I'd think vast majority don't have access to a 3D printer. Then mounting a fan/duct in a case probably be another headache.

Best bet OP got of fix is finding a replacement on Aliexpress.

When I saw these chipset fans on X570 I knew I didn't want one just because of it plus if ever needed to replace maybe a pain. Didn't want to mod on passive heatsinks. Even asked some people who I knew on various forums with contacts within manufacturers of boards and the answer was no can't get you a replacement if you need it.

Surely someone can 3d print here. What is the clearance with GPU fitted?

ALso same things bbbbzzzzztt from small loud fan have a look here would
