Hi, I'd really appreciate any help with this :)

I recently got the Ko-link Observatory case and it looks really nice and flashy, but the case fans are really too loud for my liking. I know more modern motherboards often have options to change the chassis fans to a "silent mode" within the bios, but I haven't found a way to do it yet!

I'd be extremely grateful if anybody has any ideas as to how I could successfully lower power /volume of the case fans on this motherboard!

Any ideas or gadgets or wires that I could perhaps get ?

Your motherboard is old. The fan features are limited and iirc only the CPU fan headers offer any form of temp to speed control. You will also not be able to access the speeds easily without dicking around with some 3rd party app.

You need to buy a fan controller or a low noise adapter(https://www.overclockers.co.uk/noctua-na-src10-3-pin-low-noise-adaptors-3-pack-fg-031-nc.html).

Since this case comes with some type of fan hub already the low noise adapters might be the best idea.

Hi, thank you for the replies.

I put it in the title but sorry i forgot to add it to my actual post. The motherboard is ancient now and its a Gigabyte x58-hd5 which were pretty popular at the time.

The last link I believe probably won't work on this Observatory case, as the rgb fans for it all plug into a specific rgb box which doesn't appear to be your typical 3 or 4 pin sockets but something newer and modern.

I might be screwed on this one and may have to upgrade this pc, but just wanted to ask here first to be sure :D

If they plug into a controller that does fan speed and RGB, then that's not your motherboards fault but rather the consequence of going cheap on RGB. You could get a low noise adaptor, but all this does is reduce the voltage which will likely make the LEDs dimmer aswell.

Yep , I wouldn't want to dim the LED's. I guess I just forgot/underestimated how loud the fans might be in all the chaos going on atm. To be fair, I don't feel it is neccessarily the case's fault either as I also have a much more expensive lian li RGB case and had the exact same issue with that too, but fortunately my motherboard on that pc was able to quieten them down.
