Hey guys, just built my new pc from below sig and all went well. Have a few problems though I could do with some help please. Firstly I have checked the temps and they are great, I haven't set the XMP for the memory up or anything yet either. Although the digital reading on the motherboard is giving false high readings, is this is a known issue from default bios?
Another small problem which isn't bothering me but thought I would mention, the Phanteks Ethoo case, to get the front LED strip to work Im not sure what to do, the molex connection for it I don't have a single cable that fits it, what have others done to bypass that.
Not bothered looking in the bios yet, but will go in and set XMP later. Is there any specific things I need to turn on for the gigabyte boards? this is my first ever gigabyte mobo.

Which reading? CPU? if so speedstep doesnt work in the BIOS so the CPU will be higher than idle on the desktop.

The motherboard has a digital display showing temperature and the number is always showing high. ( Currently 84) but realtemps and bios show below 30s. I havent touched any overclocking yet or even set XMP. Just looked in the bios and its gonna take some getting used to for me that one. Struggling even to find AHCI haha

Digital display? you mean the post code LED that shows operating states and fault numbers and not anything temp related.

This is the digital display which always shows. That number code never goes away, not sure if thats normal

Still tidying things up, not put the sides on yet. Lemin I have no molex connectors at all with my PSU mate. Not too fussed about the front LED strip though, just wondered why that code always stays. Will have a mess in the bios now.

Just check your manual for the error codes, mine is the z79 version so it might be different codes but mines not got an 84 code, it has B4 which i guess it could be, which just indicates a usb hotswap according to my manual.

There is a large list of error codes in the manual and 84 isn't listed. Im so lost with this bios, should have stuck with Asus what I know. I can't even find out how to set the Strap to 125 like told to do. Found a few places showing XMP but nowhere can I find how to set the strap. Been looking for videos to help me but not coming up with much.Could do with seeing someone elses bios pictures showing me what to change as I am lost. With the XMP not being set maybe that is causing the code?

Does it not change the bclk+strap for you if you set XMP.

watch it and see if it does.

Your RAM is rated for 2666Mhz, so its either going to leave the bclk alone at 100Mhz and give you a 26.66x memory multiplier or it might increase the bclk and give you a lower 24x etc memory multiplier.
