Gigabyte X99 SOC Force overclocking

Help!

I have a Gigabyte X99 SOC Force plus 5820K cpu.

I have some issues though :(

1. I cant set xmp profile even at stock. If i do then the bios recovery screen comes up. However I can set speeds and timings better than xmp manually and all is fine and passes stability tests. I had this issue with my old X58 Gigabyte motherboard and my ddr3 memory and i couldnt use xmp then. Is this just a Gigabyte issue?

2. Only one boot in 4 results in a bios which i can change things. More often than not it boots to a bios stuck at 800 x 600 res and hence i cant change any settings. I am using a dp connection. Is the issue with dp? Will i need to use DVI to get a stable boot to bios?

3. I seem to have a good 5820k needing only 1.019v on auto at stock clocks. However I have followed Stulids guide from the champion thread and when set to 4.2Ghz it only sometimes boots up. Once it does boot up it passes 10 hrs of Asus benchmark no problems. If i use Gigabytes set 4.2OC then it seems to boot up fine.

4. If i try and set above 4.2Ghz changing everything else first and the multiplier last it freezes in bios and i have to reboot. However, if i boot into windows and use Gigabytes software i can get 4.5Ghz at 1.3v and 4.6Ghz at 1.35v running stable under Asus stress test for 10 hrs. I may be able to do better than these voltages but was going for a stability first. Max temps at 4.6Ghz was 69 degrees.

So i am scratching my head now. I could just have Gigabytes software load with windows and set the clocks from there but would prefer to do it in bios (the proper way!).

The bios i am using is the latest F7A one. Is one of the previous bioses better for overclocking on this board and if so which one?

Things progessing.

XMP still bust
Bios not been at right res still broken.
Got a bios now at 4.6Ghz and 1.25v which is 100% stable (or seems to be after an hour of Asus Realbench)

There is a small pause sometimes on the windows loading screen.

I really have no idea what I am doing and I think I have got here by more luck than judgement!
