Don't know if this has been mentioned on here I couldn't find much info anywhere about it.

I asked Gigabyte if they were releasing any new x99 motherboards that wull be supporting usb3.1 and 30GB transfer on the m.2 slot and this is what I got back.

X99P-SLI will use Intel Thunderbolt solution, so it will support USB 3.1. If customer use 5960/5930 CPU, then the M.2 can run 4X so it will support 30GB transfer speed.

The ETA NL will be WK01 2016, so probably next year Jan the goods will be in the channel.

That very well could be my next motherboard.
Has all the basic features I'd need covered and it doesn't have a KillerNIC like a lot of Gigabyte's other boards.

So just looking at the page for this motheboard on Gigabyte's webasite http://www.gigabyte.my/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5658#ov and it doesn't appear to mention anything about the M.2 slot running in a different mode/speed if you don't use a 59XX processor.

Interestingly the motherboard appears to have a DisplayPort In connector. Would that be for people whating to use it as a streaming/encoding pc?

Agreed

Is this connected with the new Intel Thunderbolt solution??

I also notice they have messed with the M2 (or rather done away with) for WiFi, and no recognised memory overclocking support.

Taken from their points about the board.
Support for DDR4 XMP up to 3333MHz

So overcocking of memory does look to be supported (unless I'm missing something)

I'll be honest, if I was putting in a WiFi card I'd rather use a normal PCIe card and external antenna.

Regarding the Display Input I just notice this in amoung their big feature pictures.
Note: DisplayPort input feature is currently limited. Visit GIGABYTE website for future updates.

If you check out the spec page and manual, it only says....

Memory:
3. Support for DDR4 2133/1866/1600/1333 MHz memory modules
5. Support for Extreme Memory Profile (XMP) memory modules

rather than as in the specs for other X99 Gigabyte motherbords... e.g.

Memory:
3. Support for DDR4 3333(O.C.) / 3200(O.C.) / 3000(O.C.) / 2800(O.C.) / 2666(O.C.) / 2400(O.C.) / 2133 MHz memory modules
5. Support for Extreme Memory Profile (XMP) memory modules

So I am thinking, I don't know whether there is any significance in that, or if it is maybe inferring less bios tweaking options

By the way, I am not trying to be negative about this motherboard, rather to the contrary :)

At long last, it is a Gigabyte X99 motherboard, which appears, like for you Gazb, to be tweaking my interest, as it has features and tech I have been looking forward to, and hoping to see all together in one motherboard :D

Any update on this or any other X99 motherboard updates from manufacturers coming out in the near future? Or are manufacturers likely holding back until there is more news/a release date for Broadwell-E.
