Hi all
not sure what category this is so i put it under Mobos, please shift if aapropriate.
got a few MS updates last night, powered off, it did the install message things as usual.
today, i power on, get the MS tone etc, then the screen where it rattles through the list of registry/update things it's doing. powered off, as it sometimes does, and it seemed to shut off completely, total power down. i was thinking "that's odd..." then it fired up, but it took a fair while to bring the monitor to life, and then i got a Boot Fail message "the system has experienced a boot failure possibly due to incorrect configuration. previous settings in BIOS may not be compatible with current hardware state".
it gave options to load optimized defaults etc. i picked "load optimized defaults then boot" and i then got "BLInitialiseLibrary failed 0xc000009a".
i powered off, rebooted, came up w/ the rest of the Windows update stuff, counting up the percentage completion thing, and is running fine and dandy. there's no untoward error/critical events in Event Manager.
any idea what that was all about?
