Hi Guys,

So I'm having issues getting recovery options for Windows 10. I recently converted Windows 10 from Legacy Bios Boot Mode to UEFI so I could take advantage of Resizable Bar. I am on the latest bios, all drivers are up to date and resizable bar is working well. However I have lost the ability to enter recovery options, such as safe mode.

When I enter recovery options, the only option I have is UEFI Firmware Settings. When I click on this, the only option is to restart which automatically takes me in to bios. I assume to change the correct settings. I have no idea what to change!

For Resizable bar, CSM has been disabled otherwise I get a black screen that I need to clear CMOS to get video output. Above 4G Encoding is enabled and Resizable Bar Support is set to Auto, the only option. This is driving me absolutely bonkers and I cannot seem to find the solution.

I've already tapped @Mcnumpty2323 for help but still coming up short. @Space Monkey @Jay85 have either of you got any suggestions? Anyone else for that matter?

Honestly never encountered this before so can't really help. I got as far as enabling 4G encoding and updating the board bios but then couldn't be arsed to update the gpu bios to enable Rbar. Things get iffy when you go from legacy mode to UEFI, windows sometimes doesn't boot.

this is why i always have more than 1 drive
with windows installed for double checking stuff
so i would boot off my other drive
to see if the issue is replicated or not
since it could be a windows or installed software issue
unfortunately cant test anything here as only got
a series 2xxx gpu
but yeah other than that i already gave matt
all the things i could think of

I am using the same board with a 5Ghz 9900k.
No issues with resizable, once by 3070 was flashed.
Also GPT enabled on all of my drives, has been for some time.
Not sure if you mean that you can't access your BIOS, you could always use the BIOS reset button on the motherboard or even the combo of the two dip switches to boot to the other BIOS.

Iirc I'm using bios F11o

Ah sorry you are referring to Windows recovery options.

Ended up reformatting and doing a full clean install, when I couldn't even create a recovery drive due to missing files. Something must have gone wrong with the conversion from legacy.

All running as intended now.

In that case
It's possible the dism cleanup
And SFC scannow I mentioned might have worked
Though sometimes doesn't hurt
To reinstall every now and then anyway
Sometimes it's also the faster option
As is an image backup too
Main thing is that you are sorted though mate :):)
