recently bought these items from overclockers
Intel Core i9-10850K
Patriot Viper Steel 16GB (PVS416G440C9K) x2
Gigabyte Z490 Aorus Elite AC
im having trouble getting the xmp 4400mhz to work with this motherboard. it states the memory is on the supported list, however is blue screens randomly, it wont load borderlands 3, and i was having troubles formatting some hard drives for the whole day yesterday.
i have tried updating the bios to the latest verion of F6C, it came with bios f4, the update did not change anything.
now there are 2 memory profiles on the ram, xmp 4400 and xmp 4200, the 4200mhz appears to work, however performance is worse than what i had on my old system with a 4670k @4.1ghz with avexir 2400mhz ddr3 on a asus z87 maximus vi formula board.

i have opened up a webnote with overclockers in hope they can advise me of what to do. hopefully they can replicate the issue and find out if its my specific hardware at fault or theres a problem with the setup configuration. i would rather not have to send the stuff back.

does any one else have any recommendations ? perhaps im doing something wrong ?

simply installed windows, enabled xmp, and had problems, i have changed no other settings.

have you tried setting the voltage manually, even increasing it for the MEM above XMP value

I have the same Ram but in the 4000 running on a aorus master, try leaving at xmp but setting the mem speed to 4000 and see if you still get the issue with BSOD then increase slightly faster until it BSOD then increase the voltage to see if it is stable at maybe 1.5v for testing purposes

Was it doing it on the older F4 bios?

Hello, no i havent. I am currently trying to run each stick in xmp profile is slot a1 which is closest to the cpu. I have installed one stick and it will not post atall in bios. Possibly I have faulty ram? I havent tinkered with voltage settings but. It has these settings for profile 1: ddr4-4400 [email protected] and has ddr4-4266 [email protected]

also if only 2 modules are being installed you should install them in A2 and B2 not in A1
At the moment I'm installing just one profile in a1 to see if it's a problem with a specific memory module. However I've tested 3 now. And the all won't post. You say 1.65v is too high. But surely that's correct if its an xmp profile?

SPECIFICATIONS: • Capacity: 16GB (2 x 8GB) • Base Frequency: PC4-17000 (2133MHz) • Base Timings: 15-15-15-36 • Tested Frequency Prole 1: PC4-35200 (4400MHz) • Tested Frequency Prole 2: PC4-34100 (4266MHz) • Tested Timings: 19-19-19-39 • Tested Voltage for Profile 1: 1.45V • Tested Voltage for Prole 2: 1.35V • Format: NON-ECC Unbuered DIMM • Pin Out: 288-Pin

profile to should set it at 4266Mhz not 2400Mhz

Xmp profole is overclocking which is not guaranteed vy the limitations of the cpu.

1.65v is excessive should be no more than 1.5v on samsung b die.

So. Interesting enough. Two sticks I have tested so far report 4400mhz profile at 1.65v and this third stick I have tried reports 1.45v but still will not post.

something isn't right there make sure you set the voltage manually to 1.45V
Will give that a go shortly. I'm just testing the 4th stick to see what voltage it reports in 4400mhz profile. It also reports 1.45v but will not post. So two sticks report 1.65v and 2 sticks report 1.45v. I can try to manually set the voltage. But it won't post atall with memory installed in slot a1
