Just saw this over at guru3d.

XTREME Protection

Armored with a metal back plate, each XTREME GAMING graphics card is thoroughly applied with a breathable coating to shield against moisture, dust, and corrosion for a complete protection. This aerospace-grade coating is ideal for users who live in regions with high humidity, salt air pollution or extreme temperatures. Hardcore gamers who practice water-cooling or even LN2 overclocking could also benefit from this unique feature to reduce the risks of damages caused by coolant residue or leaks.

The XTREME GAMING graphics cards are also fitted with a smart power LED indicator next to the power connectors (available on selected models). When experiencing any power abnormality, the indicator will alert gamers by flashing light. Abnormal power-related events will recorded in the system as well through OC GURU utility software as a useful reference for troubleshooting.

Kind of wish I'd seen this before buying my G1 gaming card.

Literally just bought a G1 Gaming 2 hours ago, lol.

But the G1 is (relatively) cheap nowadays. There's no telling how much these cost. If they intend to compete with the Lightning and the Matrix Platinum, then I am guessing that the price will be similar, and I already regard those two as too expensive.

The new cards do have some nice extras. But will be price accordingly I agree.

I have no regrets with my 980 Ti G1. Everything I throw at it at 1440 just runs so smooth. :)

And no coil whine what so every. Well none that I can hear. But then I might be going deaf in my old age.

Wonder if this is a face saving measure :S while they are usually great in the UK there have been some quality control issues with certain regions - which typically have harsher environments than the UK - which might have exacerbated the problem but isn't the problem.

On the plus side I've always thought the GB cards look nicer with a backplate, they look incomplete somehow without - won't lie half the reason I have the GHz edition is how the WF3 cooler + backplate look.

Wow, now there is a blast from the past xD I used to bloody love Centurions as a kid lol
Everytime I hear the name Xtreme, it reminds me of that lol, it used to be on the TV program 'Get Fresh' in the mid 80's with Gilbert the Alien lol, the kid contestants on it used to play the Atari ST/Amiga game Xenon as well.

Was Gilbert that alien that constantly had snot falling out of its face? Man the memories.

To get the thread back on topic, why are they still pushing Titan cards if the TI980's can pretty much match them or is there a use for Titans for rendering etc?

Not been on the nVidia side for a while so not sure, just going off what I have heard in these forums.

Wow some great features for enthusiasts. Clicked the link expecting the same old marketing bs that Gillette use for their razors but some of these words actually mean something:

Powerlight is great for troubleshooting, i think Gigabyte and other partners should put this on all cards.

The PCB coating is also great, I custom cool and though any spillages have been while the liquid is non conductive would be nice to have the extra layer of protection.

The AiO GPU unit is pretty cool too (whey whey) as the AiO covers RAM, core and MOSFET. Full coverage of a custom loop with the ease of a AiO unit. It may not cool as well as a custom loop but it doesn't really need to. I hope whatever plate/IHS or cover they use to spread the heat to the cooling block doesnt reduce cooling performance too much.

Power XTREME!

Doc Terror and his cyborg companion Hacker unleash their forces to conquer Earth. Only one force can stop this evil, a handful of brave men. In specially created exo-frames, beamed down from the space station Skyvault, becoming man and machine.

This and Visionaries were my faves at the time.
