Not sure if that's the right term.

So I'm temporarily living some where that has gigaclear (400Mb, I think). My network knowledge has always been pretty sufficient for my needs, I'm no expert but can normally work things out. This setup here is baffling me. I cannot work out how to access my plex server from outside of the network. Utorrent too has issues. Also the nuc that the plex server is on seems to have a different IP address on the router page to what it says on the nuc??

I've tried all types of port forwarding and firewall rules but just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong or maybe whether gigaclear is just crap. The wifi signal is pretty attrocious too but as it's not my place I'm not in a situation where I can tear things down and start messing about with it unless I have a solution first so I know what to do. There are 2 nodes, the main one to the router and then one in the hallway that most things connect to.

Anyone here understand the gigaclear system able to give any advice?

You should be able to get a static IP from them which will take you off the CGNAT. There will likely be a monthly charge for the static IP.

Edit - completely glossed over it not being your network - you may not be able to do anything here tbh.

We need some sort of feature on this forum where anybody posts about port forwarding it puts up a big message about CGNAT and how to check for it.

What does the WAN IP say on the Gigaclear router? Is that different to what you get at https://www.thinkbroadband.com/tools/what-is-my-ip

If it's just you that needs to access Plex then move it to Tailscale and never worry about port forwarding again
