I have a giganews+newsleecher setup and its running at 50-60kb/s where it used to run at 700+ kb/s constantly.

Does any other giganews user have a slow connection at the moment or is it probably my ISP (AOL) thats causing the problem ?

Anything i can try to solve it ? Restarting my router doesnt help.

Thanks

Traffic shaping kicking in?

Single connections for me are 800-1400kb/sec, this drops to 300kb/sc after 6pm though.

3 cheers for 20 connections :D

Mine used to run at the same speed any time of day.

Now it seems to always run at slow speed, even things like viewing web pages feel slower.

The only thing that has changed is AOL told me they could give me £5 of a month for EXACTLY the same speed.

Mine does it between those times without fail im listed as a Heavy Download user though, not sure if you are or that makes a difference?

Well im on option 3, dont really download much, 99% is just surfing. Maybe 10gig a month at the absolute max I would say we use.

I just joined Giganews:) Miles better than Newsdemon IMO, got Newsleecher free too:)

With the SSL connections, is the data you recieve from the server encrypted? I though that SSL just encrypted data the client sends to the server, but I am a bit dim:D

Yeah my ISP are trying to traffic shape me but with 2 different newshosting servers each with 3 different ports it takes me all of 4-5 seconds to find one that is full speed :D
