GIMP and RAW

Just a quick one, does anyone know if GIMP supports RAW files, i have read a few things but can't seem to find a definate answer.

I quickly just checked a list of supported files through google and it doesn't look like it does. Might be wrong but on first look it doesn't.

If you need a free Raw editor look at Raw Shooter Essentials Right at bottom for free version as a few people use this here.

I have tried Rawshooter briefly but i just couldn't get a feel for it.

I think you need a plugin. try googling for dcraw

It does, but you need the dcraw plugin. dcraw forms the basis for most of the RAW converters out there, so it does a good job.

Dont use DCRAW but use UFRAW. It has the DCRAW plugin in it but a lot more too.
