gimp on os x?

i've downloaded the Leopard version of GIMP (GIMP-2.6.4-Leopard-universal.dmg), but when installed the icon looks like this:

and the program does nothing (the gimp icon is in the dock fine, but the menu bar at the top just says GIMP and nothing else...)

any ideas?

Nope, it did the same again

Might just download it again and if that doesn't work god knows

... re-downloaded, reinstalled, same thing ahh well - i'm a photoshop man i was just installing it to help a mate out he couldn't work out how to do something and i was gonna have a go for him...

i have i think, it installs with leopard as far as i know... it was tiger where it was optional...

how can i check though? there is an X11 folder in my usr folder... does that mean i have it?
