Anyone have one, driven one or seen one in the flesh? £30K track/road car seems expensive until you price up building something similar. I know some have spent similar on their kit cars & won't have the same re-sell value of a proven company such as Ginetta.

I'm now serously thinking of buying one as my last adrenalin rush, built to order with around a 6 month wait apparently sales are now gathering momentum.

Not too dissimilar to my K-Series engined G-T6 but all brand new & factory built.

These do look a right hoot as a track day toy. And when compared to other focused track cars like Atoms or XBows they are quite good value for money.

Spend £20k+'ish and get a G50 2009 spec for track. Awesome piece of kit and something I'm considering at the moment for saloon racing.

Spend whatever on a run around, it wont matter because you have a G50 :)

If you need a car that suits both road and track then I think there would be much better options for £30k, used cars though.

See these on rolling roads all the time at my previous job. Was based right next door in Garforth.

That noise :)

Bodies are built in the village I live in & a friend of mine who has a car paint refinishing unit uses an ex employee of that company to do his glassfibre work.

I've viewed a G40 race car locally which is the basis for the G40R & it's even nicer in the flesh, looking very likely I'll be selling my G-T6 after the summer show season & getting my name down for a Ginetta.

I had a little battle with the racer version one of these (which i assume is faster?) at silverstone last year and wasn't that impressed tbh. It seemed rather slow around a track for a £30k+ race car, it was on full slicks too. What are the specs of them?

After some googling it might make more sense that it was an early G40 race car, 140bhp and 850kg, rather than the later 165bhp 800kg race car. Which would explain why i could gain on the straights and he owned me on the corners (fulls slicks) :p

Unless you intended to race it in a series I would look at perhaps something more mainstream for £10k you could have a car that would be easily as fast round a track and road legal. For example I have a 106 GTI which weighs 720kg with 170ish bhp which all in owes me £5k split down the middle with a mate, it's road legal (just) and is very fun on track and very fast in corners when on r888s.

Obviously a 12yr old French FWD tin can is not everyone's idea of track day fun but you get the idea, for £30k you could have a car that almost nothing could touch on a trackday, if you want to enter a series then buying a car like the Ginetta is ideal and will probably feel more race car like being as it is purpose built as one.

A few grand more can get you a 996 GT3, I know where my money would go.

For £30k, a quick look at pistonheads shows a Noble and a Lotus 2 Eleven in the first page, so it may pay you to look about if you really want some good track day fun.

But the bright orange car is calling still ;)

I do like these Ginettas. They look like great fun and for 30k for a new car they look like quite good value. Although personally I would put my 30k into one of these:

The latest version can have a Ford 2.3 220bhp engine in it or the 245bhp eco boost engine.

If you are going to be selling your GT-6 let me know as I may be interested in it :).

I'm aware of Dare & the work they do but having seen a G40 & sat in it the car just seems to suit me & my size. Each to their own but I like something that is different from the mainstrream & the G40R will only ever sell in small numbers.

The last G-T6 sold at auction for £25+K just before turn of the year but with all Triumph running gear built for track & fast road use. Mines would obviously be nowhere near that as is but could quite easily be with some money & effort put into the car. I just enjoy driving it at the moment.
