Someone from here recommended to me a while back about a rocket air blower, (normally used for cleaning camera lens and interiors), for blowing out the inside of computers instead of buying compressed air. Has anyone here used one and is it as good or better than a can of compressed air? For instance, will the rocket blower be good for blowing out dust sitting in my case, and between the fins of my heatsink and dust covering the fans?

Avoid like the plague mate. This particular blower has an issue with the rubber deteriorating over time and will end up firing all kinds of crap over your expensive equipment. Did this to one of my camera lenses and after searching I found many others having the same issue. I use manual blowers for my camera kit (not the Giottos) but for a computer you're probably best with the comressed air.

That would be my recommendation, especially for blowing out dust between heatsink fins and other tricky areas that accumulate debris. For fans and other easy to reach spots I use a makeup brush (I know, I know but it works very well) though anything similar with soft bristles will do the job.
