The PCI-E connector has 6 pins, which include TWO 12v rails. A 4-pin molex has only ONE 12v rail, so TWO molex's are required to feed a PCI-E with TWO seperate 12v rails.
An 8800GTX would need FOUR seperate molex leads for it's 2 PCI-E slots.
