I realise I have no case yet, but I'm think about getting a clear acrylic case off the flea-bay! About £50, and I also need to add some thermal grease into the bargain!

I'm workin' on that! ;)

EDIT:

This should be good for 3.6 GHz or better, depending on the case you get. These hard disks are significantly faster.

EDIT2: Whoops, I forgot an ODD. Throw in a Pioneer DVR-212D for 20 quid.

The Q6600 is a 266 MHz FSB chip. That means that at stock it requires PC2-4200 RAM. When overclocking you'll increase the FSB. When that PC2-6400 reaches its stock speed the CPU FSB will be at 400 MHz, or 3.6 Ghz when fed through the 9x multiplier.

In short, unless you're doing extreme overclocking even the cheap RAM I included above is overkill.

Remember that if you get 4 GiB RAM you'll need a 64-bit OS.

Yes,I agree with Billytheimpaler on the memory,a good set of 6400 will be ideal, the Geil set in 'This Week Only' would be my choice, not too sure about that PSU either,a 500 Watt+ Seasonic or PCP & Cooling would be better, looks damn good otherwise though.

Run a quick forum search for the Corsair HX 520. It's the current darling of the PSU market. I've had a few of them and I recommend them near universally. It's a fantastic PSU.

Just had a look, the Corsair wins for me as I want a modular design so I only connect the wires I need for a tidier case.

Thanks for the suggestion, that one is higher rated, but I should never need that much juice!
