for a mate, getting an antec160 case from elsewhere
also graphics not a huge issue, but if anyone has got a better ati solution for a few more quid tell me what it is
Cheers

It all looks good, if you want to overclock then you may be better with the Abit motherboard based on the 975 chipset as I believe they overclock better with the 6600 and above CPUs but other than that I think it is fine.

i would get the scynthe ninja rev B cpu cooler as I believe its the best air cooler out there especially when overclocking..

I would also get the DS3 mobo instead I think its cheaper?

Change the pioneer 111 dvd r to the asus which is the same money but burns dual layered blank dvds quicker..

I believe for an extra few quid you could get the 7900 GT which is better then the x1800 xt if im not mistaken and its only like a tenner more i believe...

Dont ever remember the 7900GT being better then the x1800xt, but i'd still opt for the GT anyway, just because the crappy ATI drivers, and cards not running at the proper clocks, you have to force the ATI cards to run at stock.

Had an x1800xt and now have a 7900GS, and although the GS is slower i prefer it over the x1800xt. My main reason is noise, but the drivers are another reason to factor in, amongst other things. Can't say i'd happily recommend ATI just because i prefer to spend time using the PC rather then trying to make it work because the drivers are crap or running at the wrong speeds and so on.....

Arctic Freezer 7 is proberly a better choice, cheaper and less hassle to fit.

Tbh i don't think the fan controller is worth the hassle, cheaper to buy some 7v convertor cables and running your fans through those. Unless you really want the ease of changing the speeds and being able to push more air at the turn of a switch.

i rate the freezer 7 pro as a cooler, but i think they are noisier (not much), with regards to the fan controller, i dont mind fitting it, it looks good, and you can bring the noise right down if necessary.
