Hi matey.. Apologies but the info i gave was a little vague.
Righty this is what i have done and tested it twice now.
Uninstall all gfx drivers
Install the latest 9.12 drivers and reboot.
Go into CCC then to ATI Overdrive click the key so you can use the OVERDRIVe feature.
at the top of the page choose options/profiles/profiles manager.
create a new profile called nocrash then save and close CCC.
then go to C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\ATI\ACE\Profiles and right click and choose Edit on the nocrash.xml
change the values to this:
<Feature name="CoreClockTarget_0">
<Property name="Want_0" value="30000" />
<Property name="Want_1" value="60000" />
<Property name="Want_2" value="93000" />
</Feature>
<Feature name="MemoryClockTarget_0">
<Property name="Want_0" value="120000" />
<Property name="Want_1" value="120000" />
<Property name="Want_2" value="130100" />
</Feature>
here is a copy of mine if you dont want to edit. http://cid-c3a6f7e37d18c490.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/MISC/NOCRASH.xml
save and reboot.
now go into ccc then choose options/profiles/profiles manager
then choose NOCRASH in the profile name from the dropdown box.
then choose activate and close.
then when you look at ccc ATI overdrive section under Current Values at the bottom it should show GPU Clock as 300Mhz and the memory clock at 1200Mhz.
And this shouldnt crash or driver not respond any more.
I take no responsibility for any of this but its how i have sorted mine and hope it will help others.
