Given up with 3200MHz, what to do?

Hey guys,

I bought my Ryzen build from OcUK about 4 weeks ago and absolutely love it. Brilliant to have a custom PC again and get back in to my gaming.

One small gripe is the RAM speed. On reading various threads on here and articles online, I made sure to go for a 3200MHz kit, and one that has reviews of working out the box without upping voltage etc

So I went for:

However, for the life of me, I can't get it to boot at anything above 2666MHz, anything above that and my PC just gets caught in a boot and shutdown loop. I've tried upping the voltage to 1.35 and other recommendations off here for Ryzen overclocking, but nothing. And I've just about given up

So, do I leave it at 2666MHz? Am I missing out on that much?

Do I return it to OcUK? Would they even take it after 4 weeks of use, I mean it works absolutely fine, just not at the advertised speed, but I'm wondering if the fact it's Ryzen gives them a get out of jail card because of the known issues with RAM

Any advice is appreciated guys

Are you running the latest BIOS for that board?

I've got Trident Z 3200MHz and it was a case of just enabling the DOCP profile for 3200MHz. I had to update the BIOS though, it refused to work when I first got it.

Yeah updated the BIOS to the latest, and again to the one that was recently released. Tried the DOCP profile last night and the same thing

Just tried the above and got it to boot once at 3066MHz on the DOCP profile, so I went in the BIOS to lower SOC slightly as it was at 1.2 and was curious if it would boot at 1.1, didn't work. Now it won't boot again at anything above 2666MHz. DAMNIT

Ok so I'm in with DCOP settings, 1.4v voltage for the RAM and 1.2v SOC voltage at 2933MHz.

On pass 2/4 with no errors so far on MemTest86 so seems stable so far, how long should I run to be absolutely sure? Seemed fine before hand using MemTest in Windows as well.

Only issue I get is occasionally when restarting from the BIOS, it will shut down then boot up again and be fine, it doesn't do this when restarting from Windows (it also doesn't do this at stock settings).

I'm slightly worried about SOC being that high too. A lot of forums and posts on here say not to go above 1.1v absolute max, whereas other places say up to 1.3 is more than safe

I'll stick with this, just annoying about the occasional restart issue, although it only seems to do when restarting from the BIOS as mentioned. Now my RAM is somewhat stable, I'll not be visiting it too often. Will buy some of your RAM at some point though and see if I can get that at 3200. I know it's not a huge difference from 2933 to 3200 but I'm sure that 1 extra FPS might be the difference in PUBG...:X

Memtest86 overnight with 0 errors

I'm also not getting memory dumps appear when I run CCleaner, so I think I might actually be stable. It's not 3200MHz but 2933 will do for now!
