Gladiator blu ray remaster

anyone in the UK sent back the old blu ray version to universal and got the new remastered one yet?

they are not doing a recall like was done for Saving Private ryan since they say that there is nothing wrong with the disc. However since many people complained about DNR, they have reamstered it (supposedly this remaster involved R.Scott).

So if you bought the original blu ray you can send your disc to Universal in the UK and they will send you this new remastered version which should be DNR free. http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=4901

apparently some in North America have been getting replacements so I was wondering if anyone in the UK had received theirs?

better late than never. only question is when are these rolling out in the UK. hope i don't have to buy that double pack with Robin Hood since that movie was an epic disaster. debating if i buy the old gladiator and mail it in for an exchange

they have recently restocked it on a "famous online bookstore" (aka a tropical forest

). it doesn't say if this is the new version though :confused:

i don't think it works like that. you don't email, but you need to post the disc only (no box or second disc) then they send you new version disc. problem is this can be quick for some and take a long time for others.

FYI just got my copy from the rainforest site and can confirm it's the new remastered version. so glad i waited for this, looks stunning on 50" plasma.

i think this is only for paramount version in US, in UK it's Universal and new version should have pocket blu logo on back of case

it should be , easy way to tell if it is the new remastered version is too look at back of box for the pocketblu logo

i got mine from the "rainforest" website and it was the new version. i have read other posts that the website you mentionned does carry the new version as well
