Just tried my balaclava on yesterday in prep for my CBT on 8th July and realised that glasses are steaming up due to breath rising up. What is tje beat thing for this? Oh and generally, you war glasses under the balaclava still right, not over it?

Thanks

A balaclava for mid July?! I know it's not a partially warm summer as of yet, but I doubt a balaclava will be required lol.
But yeah, you'd still wear them with the arms under the balaclava. If you want to just keep your neck warm, just try and find a neck tube or something, should stop your glasses from steaming up.

Sorry, didn't explain it too well. I am in the UK and am taking my CBT on 8th July. I am renting out the bike and equipment for the CBT and balaclava is really for hygiene and not keeping warm. :-)

I wear glasses under my lid and the only thing that works (for me) without having to crack open the visor a little is a Foggy mask - they're about 10 quid I think, but work a treat.

Will check it out. Is that what they are called, Foggy Mask? Thanks

Just buy your own lid, you'll need one any way.

I take it your only testing the mask with glasses? If your going along the road the airflow through vents or if you keep the visor open a crack then they won't fog up. Or just breath down.

I was thinking to buy my own but want to test one on the CBT first to see if t was comfortable. I.e. I want the full face one, but wanted to make sure I like it before buying. Still have to get the whole gear.

With regards to trying it, I have only tried it indoors and it doesn't fog up too bad so I'm thinking outside/with vents it should be fine?

Saying that I don't know about rain and fogging up as the heat will definately cause some steamy moments!!!

Pretty much - think it's a Respro Foggy Mask - those are the only ones I'd advise using, I tried an 'Oxford' branded one once, it was rubbish by comparison.

But if you're a glasses wearer, they're worth every penny.

Are they the ones that cover the nose and stick with Velcro on the inside of the helmet?

I only tend to fog up when at a complete stop, though will also back a foggy mask as both me and my dad use them in winter. I mostly just try and make sure when I breath out its always through my mouth and I blow downwards.
Though not had as much of a problem with any of this since I got a new lid, Caberg v2rr, which has served me far better than my old cheap one.
