Kind of a stupid question but do you think it's worth it to have glasses on these prescription?

R -0.25
L -0.75

Optician said I wouldn't benefit much from glasses. I think if I do get them, I'd only be wearing them for some activities like driving for example.
Anyone with similar prescription wear glasses?

Yes, for watching tv, driving and anytime you need good vision beyond 30 feet. When going for a pint or cooking dinner leave them in your pocket. If your eyesight starts to deterioriate this trend can sometimes continue with age don't wail till your -1.5 or 2. You'll slowly miss little things like small leaves and brick edges.

Don't get prescription sunglasses till you hit -3 though. Too expensive.

all my mates said that one of their biggest regretts was to have glasses.

they said that their eyes jsut got weaker and weaker over time.

Probably because once they begin to deteriorate it can and does continue. Some people reach a sort of anti-plateau but not everyone. I can't see how glasses are harmful to a persons eyes.

Environmental factors can play a role but it tends to be genetic.

An absolutely massive scientific survey being carried out in Korea/Japan showed just the opposite, and failing to accurately correct led to faster deteoriation of vision. The difference was so starling that they actually stopped the investigations ahead of schedule on ethical grounds. Your friends eyes would have continued to fail anyway.

I used to be -0.5 and -0.75 and wore glasses when I was in class reading the whiteboard. If you feel like you need them they get them. If you're fine as it is you probably don't need them.

That said. I know some people who have got them and been amazed at how clearer their sight is.

I have -0.5 and -0.75.

Since I got my glasses, my confidence has shot up. I can now see people's faces in the distance and not accidentally avoid people, I can see details of leaves, brick edges.

Basically, everything looks HD, used to look SD, so I pretty much leave glasses on when I leave the house.

I hate my glasses with a passion. But my eyesight is borked. My left eye is perfect and my right eye has got Astigmatism and is lazy and really short sighted cant remember the number but it was bad. So if I use my right eye all writing is blurry unless im 2 inches away but without my glassed my left eye does most of the work and all is fine.

But when I put my specs on my brain doesn't have a clue what to do now the right eyes working so it swaps between them and is generally annoying as hell. Optician said it could be a year before it learns to use both i was ummmkay.
