I’ve been wearing varifocals for over 25 years but I’ve now decided to try single lenses. To those who also have 2 pairs of glasses, what do you find is the best case to use?

I've only started wearing glasses for a few months now. My eye sight declined quite quickly - weirdly the optician said there is a good chance my rapid weight loss over the last 6 months contributed to it, as the shape of your eye can change with weight loss, and cause your focus to decline.

I got a pair of varifocals, and a free set of single long range glasses. I hate the long range glasses, and do not not use them, I prefer the verifocals 100%.

I've been wearing distance glasses since I was a kid... now I have to wear reading glasses too. The optometrist says I'm a +1 or +1.5 at the most, which is a right pain to get glasses for but anyway, I can get away with most things when I have my distances glasses on.. I just whip them off if I need to read something up close.

It's pain is when I'm wearing my contact lenses. Then I have to use reading glasses.. I carry a magnifier creadit card in my wallet and in worst cases use my iphone and zoom in.
I don't tend to carry glasses cases, sun glasses just sit on my head or hang off my back pocket, yeah I broke many pairs. If I am transporting them, I just use the case that the pair came with but this is new...

Can't help but that feels like a step backwards. Getting varifocals a few years ago was the best thing I ever did.
I get where you’re coming from, but there are certain situations where varifocals don’t work for me hence the change. I believe wearing distance glasses can be a problem when driving in that instrumentation within the car can be blurry.

Younger brother got varifocals last year after about 25 years of wearing glasses, from what he's said he prefers them for general use, but likes the single vision glasses for specific tasks (it seems he needs a different lens for painting models to his reading'/distance).

I use varifocals for distance mainly and reading glasses mostly.

I have had varifocals for about 5 years now, but unfortunately recently had to get a second pair of 'occupationals' for working on the computer. The varifocals are great for reading and distance, but due to the large difference in upper and lower presciptions they struggle in the 1 metre range. Switching glasses and having to take 2 pairs when I travel into the office is really annoying.

Probably not much help, but just pointing out you might end up with more than one pair in future anyway.

been wearing vari-focal for 20 years and made first internet purchase on last set ... where also got a long vision pair last time, for duel watching tv in slouched position/a spare for driving.

I've got one pair for reading, another pair for the computer and a pair of vari-focals for out and about

Returning to the question, I use aluminium hard shell cases and put a label on the bottom so I know what’s what. At one point I was juggling 6 pairs. You can get different colour ones

The close isn’t sprung so you don’t get the snapping, and they won’t fail. Also are v light. I’ve had mine around 3 years and have had to re-bend the catch occasionally. Unfortunately they do scratch but how often are you being judged on the state of your glasses case
