Glastonbury 2023

Watching a bit of QOTSA before bed.

That beard looks amazing :D

Such a creepy sounding band… the ‘solo’ from Leg of Lamb must be the creepiest solo ever :p

That beard looks amazing :D

When he started sporting it, I was all like

Listened to around 15 full sets so far and Pale Waves were at the very bottom of my ranking; a grown woman singing with the affectations of a 14-year-old is not my thing at all.

Favourite sets: Shame, QOTSA, The Comet is Coming, Slowdive.

The BBC reckon Axl's mic was fine in person, might have been a TV thing.
I was in the crowd and it sounded much better than when I heard some of it on six music, driving back. Weird.

It was one of my highlights actually. Along with Showhawk duo which was at the bandstand on Thursday.

According to my Samsung watch I did 160,000 steps Wednesday to Sunday night!

I don't think I could go to Glasto now though as too much politics. It's kinda like how Pride has become. One of my closest friends is gay and he said that Pride used to be about the music, drag and sub-cultures, but he feels that the T has taken over the LGB bit in LGBT.

It's really not. It's there if you want to seek it out, or you can pretty much ignore it completely!

Too much politics at glasto lol, tell me you don't go to music festivals without tell me you don't go to music festivals.

Found the overall range very underwhelming this year....very mainstream and safe....I know it's only the stuff that's televised, but still.

Standouts for me were Young Fathers and Loyle Carner. The latter probably the only one that I feel I've 'discovered' this year.

downloaded gnr iplayer video - sound is definitely 126kb/s - noticeably inferior than 320kb/s on sounds hires version (musics drive/ambiance/less-distortion);
the former is like DAB radio at it's best - if you are familiar with that classic OC thread.

WARNING: A UK TV licence is required to access BBC iPlayer TV content legally

subsequently saw the video on Lana's stage exit

Glastonbury says under the terms of the festival, it is not allowed to play music on any major stages past midnight, and Lana’s set had been due to end at 11.45pm
etc
it did seem like elton was cut short too - in previous years I though encores had gone on after midnight - guess i'm wrong.
found Pinball the most refreshing of elton's stuff - someone needs to compose a new rock opera suitable as a headline.
