Glastonbury & the BBC.

Watched the start of Olivia, then switched over to the prodigy, what a difference! Not the busiest main stage, would have been better the other way around!

Yeah just caught the end of them and thought they were fantastic.

Future Islands were top notch.
Yeah I did the same, will have to catch the full Wolf Alice set at some point.

Prodigy knocking it out of the park so far, their live show is just fantastic. Nice tribute to Keith on Firestarter too

.. and who is the olivia rodrigo girl trying to sing with Robert Smith - they don't seem to appreciate that there is some genuine angst/experience
communicated in his voice (even when he was as young as her) and likes of Neil Young, it's not just schmaltz.

Prodigy were brilliant, looked an amazing set.
Watched the end of Olivia, not the biggest crowd when the lights went on at the end, headlining the wrong night really, Saturday surely better for her

Massive Prodigy fan but 14 year old daughter won our rock/scissors /paper battle so we ended up watching Olivia instead tonight.

To be fair to her - She was superb - Slick, great band, very impressive for a 22 year old with only a couple of albums under her belt. She was very very good. Daughter loved it so happy house and I'll watch Prodigy gig tomorrow. Tickets booked to see them for 8th time next year!

I agree with others in that the line up was pretty weak this year.

Rodrigo is a decent artist and pretty popular but doesn’t really have the depth of material to put out banger after banger for a couple of hours which is usually required for a headline slot.

That said, I think there were much more egregious ‘miss slotting’ last year (e.g. Avril Lavigne who absolutely slayed her midafternoon other stage slot).

While I’m here, the other thing that grinds my gears is pop artists who spend most of their slot prancing around and not singing their songs. Absolutely zero respect for those that turn up and watch them.

This is definitely just a thing that some major pop artists do and doesn’t really happen with other genres. You’d never catch the likes of Dave Grohl pretending to sing while shaking his ass at the audience.

Caught up on the prodigy and some of Rodrigo on the train.

The prodigy absolutely smashed it.

From what I’ve seen of Rodrigo so far she has done a great job. One or two awkward gaps in the performance where she quickly realised she was in the wrong place to start the next song but otherwise very good.

As I said above, another album or two under her belt is only going to improve things. That’s not going to take long if she sticks with it given the talent she is.

Some good acts but not a knockout Glastonbury lineup this year imho, Charli XCX was an absolute disgrace.

Prodigy on now and tbh probably going to be the best set.
Don’t get the Charli XCX hate at all, she’s not my cup of tea but she puts on a good show and the crowd were well into it, what more do you want?

I think its reasonable to assume if someone turns up to perform on stage at a minimum they sing, otherwise what are they talentless? She's even admitted herself she CBA to sing in key.

The other solo artists / bands who perform everything live must be laughing.
