My Lenovo laptop has been saying on reliability history that Windows didn’t shut down properly but I have done every diagnostic test possible and it is linked to fast startup.

Also, my laptop recently starts selecting the widgets and weather bar when loading into Windows and the news flyover pops out. It’s quite frustrating.

I have turned off fast startup and none of those issues occur now.

I have done DISM, SFC, run diagnostics, RAM, drive check etc. and everything comes back fine.

Is my laptop corrupted? Not really sure what to do.

Congratulations u fixed it ;)

Not really sure what to do.
I don't restart my old PC very often I just use hibernate and restart when there are updates, has turning off fast startup made that much difference to your boot time?

Because I'd probably just leave fast startup turned off but you could try updating drivers etc then clearing / deleting the prefetch folder:

If it still doesn't work backup your data and do a fresh Windows install but theres no guarantee you won't end up with the same conflict / bug after...

Do you use them if not just search for "uninstall w11 widgets?" and use one of the guides to remove some of the windows bloat that MS likes to install

Thanks, I just kept it off and it only takes ten seconds more to load.

Cheers for all your help and advice.
