Globalwin 802: Still in use?

While taking a break from my eternal search for a perfect new case, I went googling and discovered my OCuk case bought in 2002 was a Globalwin 802! I was guilty of buying the extreme edition:-

Front: 1x80mm YS-Tech
Side: 2x120mm YS-Tech
Rear: 1x80mm YS-Tech
Top: 2x120mm YS-Tech

Just for good measure, in case neighbours in the next street could not tell when I was gaming, there is also an 80mm YS-Tech fan connected to a SocketA Thermalright/take heatsink! ;)

About the only downside to my 802 is that I no longer have the outer covers for the external 3.5" drives (ex-floppy and zip100) or the 5.25" external drives... But I could simply fill the gaps with drives and not connect them to the motheboard.

Anyone else still using this classic?

Would I be mad to forget about a new case for my new rig and simply replace some/all the YS-Tech fans with more sensible volume options (perhaps a mix of Ambers/Noctuas/Yate Loon etc... for a conclusive comparison of ultimate CFM/volume fans)?

Oh and then house the Barton rig in a new case (Zen/Dominator)?

Well I believe I had a cut down version of this, with 3 HDD LED's on the front and it was totally white, I was given it a while back - it had a PIII at the time but for some stupid reason I chucked it out :(

Couple of weeks later I realised it was a hardcore pro's case and pretty much kicked myself for it :p

I never had an 802, but I did have one of the overclockers cases of the same era:

My 802 is still in use !!

I got the side panel with 2 x 80mm fans in it, but otherwise it is standard.
Ran a Dual socket Athlon in there for years and now it has a Q6600 setup.

i've got a black one that i use as a server, has 6x hard drives in it and no cd drive

back in the day i had a black and a white one, so i swapped the power & reset buttons around, i sold off the white one after putting a window & fan hole at the top

my current black one has half the hole for a window cut (started it about 4 years ago) and still has the masking tape on it :D

I'm also a member of the "802 Extreme" club :)

Fished it down from the loft when I was clearing it out, booted it up and it still works

I'm trying to find the bay covers as I know they were put up there when I retired the PC, it will return :D

I still use my Extreme :o
Though it has a bay bus so the 120mm fans are pretty much switched off 99% of the time and the 80mm fans have been swapped for quieter models

Ive had no need to change, keeps everything cool (even with the 120mm fans off) its totally silent with the loudest parts being the HD's
