Gloss or Satin?

I've built myself a shelf inside my built-in wardrobe and lowered the existing rail so that even my longest jacket has 10cm off the floor, and I also have enough room for a TV rather than have it wall mounted. The space is 130cm wide, 70cm in height and 40cm in depth so plenty of room for 42".

However the wood I have was light brown, I've given it 3 under coats of white emulsion which is perfect. However I know once it gets rubbed or has a TV placed on it the paint is practically gonna fall off over time.

Was wondering which paint would be ideal, gloss? satin? or some sort of clear/white varnish.

Thanks in advance!

The wood was taken from a shelf at my old work, apart from alcohol stains has it was used in the spirit cellar its perfect wood. I've cut a small semi circle at the back to run wires and sanded the wood down and given it 2 coats of white emulsion paint. Am I good to just slap a coat of gloss or satin on top?
