Glossy screen finish monitor recommendations

Hi all -

I have recently tried out the LG 34UC87C (which I had to return due to a cracked screen) and the Asus PG279Q and couldn't work out why I wasn't overly excited by either of the images considering both were IPS and both received incredible reviews.

Cutting the story as short as possible I've realised what distracts me form the usual popping colour and sharpness observed on say Mac's Retina displays or high end TV screens is the anti-glare, matt adhesive film that manufactures put on PC monitors.

I obviously understand that to a lot of people this is essential for the distracting reflections you would get in bright environments. To me however, having spent a fair amount on a good gaming PC in the last month, it's a big negative that spoils my experience.

I am unable to find a good high end monitor stockist near me as looking at monitors in person to find a glossy finish would be a simple solution, so was wondering if anyone knew of models that do not have the anti-glare matte finish?

One of my options is to just use a smallish TV as they typically don't have the same treatment but if I can find a monitor with some gaming features (1440p or 4k, higher refresh rates etc) all the better.

Cheers in advance! :)

*EDIT* - failing a glossy finish, are there known monitors with less aggressive anti-glare films applied to them?
