Ok, this one has me.

My daughter cannot access her GMail account.

I had a quick look, and I can access them from my PC and so to save time, I simply setup a new email for her, but she could not access that either?

Turns out she is unable to access ANY of her accounts from her PC, but they can be accessed from another PC.

Ok fine, no worries... Her PC has Windows 7 on it, and she only has a 60GBSSD and a 120GBHD and so I said to her that I will give her a treat and put Win 10 on, along with a couple of brand new HDs. This will also sort her email issue out as well as give her plenty of space for her pictures of Owen Farrel and the England Rugby team LOL ( Sorry honey )

Today I bought her a 120 and a 1TB and a new Win10/64 and gave her a nice fresh install.

But can I get it to access her emails? Its doing the same thing of simply ignoring me and when I try Thunderbird, it asks if I have done the info correctly...

As I said, her original account and the new one I setup last night are both working on another PC but not hers.

And its a whole fresh install?

I am currently struggling right now. I am down with the flu and I really dont need this at all, but she is screaming at me cos her works needs to be done.

Any clues I am missing?

Have you tried a different browser on the offending machine?

When you say - cannot access and ignoring you can you describe any more detail?
 
Set up with the wrong keyboard layout and the password contains a symbol or character that's in a different place?

E.g. " and @ between UK and US keymaps?
 
Are you able to sign in to your own email account from her pc? How is the machine connected to your home network? Could be a networking issue with regards to the assignment of that device on your home network?

Also try a different browser as recommended.

So sorry for the delay in getting back.

Ok, well weirdly, I have had a play about and Im still no wiser.

I have failed completely to get Thunderbird to let me setup on her PC and yet I have doen it just simply on mine, also I have done a couple pf other test machines, with various operating systems and they are all doing it fine, just not hers?

Now, in saying this, I have setup the windows emailer that comes with Windows 10 and its worked on that just fine for her, I have also setup soher homepage is google and she can simply click the gmail and use the web based option and she is fine with that.

I just cannot for the life of me work out why Thunderbird does not do it on her PC... As I said, I gave her a fresh install, and in my tests, I have also given a test machine a 100% exact same fresh install using the same Source as I used for hers, and that works just great???

I confes to not trying that. I was trying to setup Thunderbird and so the browser was not really the solution for this particular issue.

Possibilty of the wrong region/language with the Keyboard etc?
No, its all UK English. Good call though... That is one I have missed before.

Accessing my account from her PC.
No, I have not tried that I admit. Her PC is working now, but since Thunderbird is not being used, I can have a test later on when she is not using it.

Im unable to go to her PC directly as Im a spaz, so I have to use VNC, so I hope that does not cause any issues - it certainly shouldnt of course.

What did you miss?

Her emails suddenly decided to stop being nice, and when I had a look at her PC, I realised that she had only got a 60GBSSD and a 120GBHD and both were pretty much full! - So, rather than me having a look at her PC to sort out why the emails had gone *** this sort of swearing is not acceptable *** on her, I decided that I will give her a couple of new HDs instead of the other ones, and, since she has new HDs, I will give her Windows 10 at the same time.

The whole thing will of course be a fresh install and so the problems she had with the emails will go away!
Granted they didnt, and for some reason Thunderbird is still not letting me do her emails for her PC ( and yes, her account details work just fine from mine ) but at least they are working through the Windows emailer and webmail.

I have said all of this already.

Or is it because I said that Windows 10 will be a treat over Windows 7?
I have to be honest, but I have software that runs great in 7 but I have never manager to get it to work in 8 or above. Its annoying because its the medical scans from my accident, and there is over 5000 images showing all my bits and bobs and breaks and bumps.

Bloody hell your posts are hard to filter for relevant info!

Be clear:

- What is happening?
- What does Thunderbird say?
- Tried exporting email accounts from one Thunderbird and importing them on the other?
- How are you trying to set up Thunderbird? Imap or POP3? If one doesn't work try the other...
- Sending mail, does that work? Are you using the gmail SMTP server with auth or an auth free ISP SMTP server?
- I understand gmail.com works fine?

There's a setting in gmail that doesn't allow insecure programs to connect to gmail (ie thunderbird) or two step is turned on.

Dont bother anymore.

Im not looking at her PC anymore... I have had the flu, stil have, I have a chest infection and this has now led to me getting a sinus infection and I am now completely tone deaf, cant breathe and Im now back on oxygen and given that I am already on massive doses of painkillers and brain meds for my other issues, the last thing I need is to try to think about things when I relaly cannot concentrate on anything, andeven worse, is that with me being stuck in a wheelchair, I cannot access her PC to even bother with it, the fact that I have managed to get it workign with the windows emailer, meansthat she has full access to her emails now anyway.

I really want to do her PC as it was, but I just cant think straight at all.

These posts are showing me that you are getting flustered with me, and you really dont know how much this is upsetting me, especially when its over something that any idiot can fix in minutes, and Ihave done hundreds oftimes over the years, and yet I am simply finding it near to impossible for me to eve nthink straight right now, and so the ONLY solution is to simply ignore the issue.
