Gmail IMAP & All Mail folder conundrum.

I have just completed a clean install on my Dell 7737 laptop after installing a Crucial MX100 SSD, which has really increased the responsiveness of my laptop. I managed to navigate the UEFI password problem and got my retail Windows 8.0 upgrade disc to recognise my embedded bios licence and activate on installation.
I have installed my Office 365 subscription onto the laptop and I have a problem with my Gmail account, I cannot get Outlook to show my All Mail folder in the IMAP folders, I have un-subscribed and re-subscribed to the folder umpteem times and this has had no effect. I installed Thunderbird email as a backup and this happily shows my IMAP All Mail folder with no problems at all. I would rather use Outlook than Thunderbird as I am paying for the subscription.

Has anyone had this problem and solved it? I have googled the problem and I haven't found a working solution yet. Anyone have any insight?

Thanks

Assuming you've tried this given you mentioned you've tried it several times, but the whole thread may be worth a read as other people (lots of) have the issue.

I was having the same problem i.e. "All Mail" was visible in Outlook 2012 but not visible after upgrade to Outlook 2013. To resolve, I "subscribed" to the folder:

  1. In the left nav folder list, click on "[Gmail]"
  2. Right click on [Gmail] .. IMAP folders
  3. Query for folders containing "All"
  4. Subscribe to "[Gmail]/All Mail"
  5. Restart Outlook 2013

Many thanks for that info, I followed a tip about creating a folder called All Mail and processing the marked headers and now the folder has been populated with my emails!!!

I can remove Thunderbird now, I didn't want to have to use it as my email program as the calendar support is a bit flakey.

Cheers
