Gmail: Mail Delivery Subsystem bounce messages

I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to stop gmail constantly telling me about emails that failed to send.

Basically I have a few group emails that I'm part of and if there is one invalid email in the mailing group, then when I reply to all, I obviously get a delivery error, as such:

Mail Delivery Subsystem
Delivery to the following recipient has been delayed:
[email protected]
Message will be retried for 3 more day(s)

I know the real solution is to remove the offending email from the cc list, but this isn't always practical. And besides, you have to get the annoying and repeated 'warnings' first, before you notice that there's an invalid email on the list in the first place.

So what I'm looking for is, either:

A way to prevent these messages entirely
A way to only get notified once (not auto-retry for next 3 days)
A way to say don't notify me of any errors when trying to send to [email protected]


In my experience gmail only ever fails to deliver mail when the email address doesn't exist, so I really don't want to be notified repeatedly that it's tried to resend it and then failed.

Any suggestions welcomed.

Can't you set a filter to move emails with "mail delivery subsystem" in the subject/whatever somewhere else?

That's what I'm probably going to do, unless someone knows a way to change, or stop gmail from sending them in the first place.

Guess that may be my only option.
