Gmail + Outlook 2007 help please?

Guys

Bluebottle are going to charge for thier free pop/smtp accounts so I'm moving to gmail.com

Setup Outlook 2007 without issues and I had some mails sync but now I keep getting the box below popping up? Searched and confirmed I have everything set correctly??

Any idea's?

Have you setup your g-mail account to a pop account? This can be changed within settings.

Check these settings

I followed those instructions before I posted here, I have created 2 accounts now and I cannot login to them via the net as it says the accounts have been disabled??

Is there a contact email address I can mail to and see if they can help me??

Gmail support contact options, you may have to log in to gmail to see it:
https://mail.google.com/support/bin/request.py?contact_type=contact_policy

If the link doesn't work go to gmail.com and click on the Help link, and then at the bottom in the footer should be a link to "About Contacting Support"

Many thanks I have the same issue on a XP Outlook 2003 machine as I do on Vista 64bit Outlook 2007 machine?

Both have Avast installed, looking at that now, thanks

check your inbound server is set to ssl and port 995 and outbound set to tls and port 587

also shouldnt the username be just your username and not the whole address
ie. 'john.smith' not '[email protected]'

Tried both and I still can't get it to work on 2007 or Microsoft mail (Vista)

your pop server should be 995 not 587

Lol thanks I set it up fine via Outlook 2007 automatic yesterday but then things just went from back to worse...

I just want a working email account... Thanks for your help... will keep google'ing it

seems to be an obscure problem somehow related specifically to outlook and how you connect to the internet (work lan, campus intranet), how do you connect?

Both machines are home users on local lans which addes to my frustrations really....damn bluebottle.com

could try; temporarily at least, either forwarding port 995 to one of the pc's or placing it in the routers dmz just to eliminate that factor - www.portforward.com

have you tried it in another email client (thunderbird?)

Not at the moment, tried Outlook 2003 and 2007 and Microsoft mail

May try that on my home pc and see how I go

Everytime I set the account up client side and send a test mail it appears in google web mail?

I have enabled pop on the settings panel? Is there any other free pop/smtp service I could try?

OK I setup a [email protected] account and enabled pop and it works fine?????

Must be an ISP issue surely??

Just a quick update guys, I setup gmail with IMAP enabled and it is now working a treat

Guys

I added my Gmail account but its second in the tree now (see below) ho do I make it the first primary account, this is the only account I have setup too??
