Gmail - push without syncing?

Is it possible to push Gmail without having to have it sync contacts etc?

Curious as believe it or not, despite owning a 3G since release, I have only just started using it for my emails :eek:

Ah, so then only the emails will sync?

EDIT - where is this setting? I can't seem to find it...

Thanks a lot guys. Now setup as Exchange and working perfectly with Push
